custom strikethrough/xout/juxtaposing characters?

Post by increpare »

I'm trying to typeset some Lacanian matheme related stuff, and one thing I find myself requiring, but not being able to figure out how to do, is to draw a diagonal slash through a letter (possibly group of letters). Ideally I'd be looking for some way to produce things like numbers 240 and 241 here a diagonal strike through a word of any length, but I could also make do with some way of juxtaposing '/' on any letter I guess.

Even just with single characters, xout from the ulem package doesn't quite work, as it doesn't slash on a letter-by-letter basis, but based on the width of the text. I looked at the corresponding code, but couldn't really figure it out.

So, any advice/suggestions (would be much appreciated)?

Cheers,

Hello,
have a look at the cancel package, it is able to strike out any part of a formula.
