Good morning!

Post by lizrdb »

I'm new to LaTeX - and not a user. I have been charged with supporting it and am trying to understand how everything fits together and why I can't get certain things working. Help me, forum - you're my only hope!

First of all, welcome to the forum.

I am a bit confused, why do you have to support something you have no knowledge about? Are you also in charge of curing cancer and designing new ways of mass destruction? This seems to be a silly decision (no offense).

A good start would be to read LaTeX for complete novices, which handles the very basics. The LaTeX beginners guide (featured on the right) might also be a good thing to read.

I bet you know that it will take a while till you understand the workings enough to support something.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Hello,

welcome to the forum!

Feel free to ask any questions you have. We cannot replace reading an introduction, but we can answer questions about reasons, backgrounds, and for sure we can help fixing problems.
