Good morning!
I am a bit confused, why do you have to support something you have no knowledge about? Are you also in charge of curing cancer and designing new ways of mass destruction? This seems to be a silly decision (no offense).
A good start would be to read LaTeX for complete novices, which handles the very basics. The LaTeX beginners guide (featured on the right) might also be a good thing to read.
I bet you know that it will take a while till you understand the workings enough to support something.
