continue typing after inline math shortcut
I'm using windows and have a lot of inline math symbols, some of which aren't gree=k, they are just normal characters which may also have super/subscript. I currently use the shortcut alt+h+i to start inserting an inline formula, but I have to click in the box that is created in order to continue typing. Is there a way to get into editing an inline math formula without having to click in that box? If they were all greek I'd be fine, as alt+m+g (+ say s for sigma) will let me put a greek character in and carry on typing.
Thanks for any help!

welcome to the forum!
Thanks for posting the answer that you found. It may help the next one coming here via google. Maybe I can answer the next LyX question. Mostly based on LaTeX experience though.
