I have a corrupted "*.tex.bak" file. Is there any chance that I could repair it somehow?

Many open questions.

Which operating system?
Which editor (or LaTeX IDE)?
What about the primary file (*.tex)?
How does this corruption reveal?
Any idea what caused the corruption?

-I'm able to open it in WinEdt but it's not readable, lots of unrecognized symbols
-By deleting and then recovering

As a matter of fact, your work is lost. At least the sources. If you still have the output (DVI, PS, PDF), you can at least extract the text by exporting to a plain text format. The respective viewer should manage that. But you will have to recover the complete formatting by hand again.

And by the way, discard your recovery software (whatsoever that may be).

I have PDF and DVI, but they are corrupted too.
