Corrupted Backup File
I have a corrupted "*.tex.bak" file. Is there any chance that I could repair it somehow?

Corrupted Backup File
Many open questions.
Best regards and welcome to the board
Thorsten
- Which operating system?
- Which editor (or LaTeX IDE)?
- What about the primary file (*.tex)?
- How does this corruption reveal?
- Any idea what caused the corruption?
Best regards and welcome to the board

Re: Corrupted Backup File
As a matter of fact, your work is lost. At least the sources. If you still have the output (DVI, PS, PDF), you can at least extract the text by exporting to a plain text format. The respective viewer should manage that. But you will have to recover the complete formatting by hand again.
And by the way, discard your recovery software (whatsoever that may be).
