Contacting a Package Author

Post by murraye »

How might I go about contacting Peter Wilson, or otherwise indicating a typo and suggesting an improvement in his document "A Few Notes on Book Design", distributed as memdesign?

Contacting a Package Author

Often the email address of a package or class author can be read in the documentation. It seems, not in the case of memoir. However, authors and maintainer of memoir and memdesign have written several packages, listed at their author information page on CTAN.

I found Peter Wilson's email address in the webguide documentation. However, he is no longer active on this package.

Lars Madsen's email address can be found in the memexsupp documentation.

In case of Lars this could be simplified by the fact that he is a board member. His user name is daleif and his last visit is only some days ago. So drop him a line by a friendly PM.

Since my concern is strictly with memdesign rather than memoir , it's only Peter Wilson I wanted to contact. The @boeing address is no longer valid; I've tried contacting him through Herries Press but haven't heard a reply yet.

What is meant by "author information page on CTAN"? Just the contents of the README file one sees when searching there?

I mean this page: http://ctan.org/author/id/wilson

Perhaps there's a more current package with a working email contact.
