Hello - I'm a web developer currently working on an open source publishing platform/CMS for academic journals. I'm currently studying for an MA in Web Design and Content Planning, and this project is the basis of my thesis, although I intend to develop and support it beyond the end of my studies. I also have a background in academic publishing.
The project is still at the planning stage, and LaTeX support is one of the core requirements, which is why I'm here. I've never used LaTeX (my academic background is in the humanities) so I'm probably going to be asking a lot of very stupid questions. Apologies in advance!
The project, although not the platform, is going to be launched in a few weeks, at which point I'll be happy to reveal the details to anyone who's interested.

Re: Hello
Hi,
welcome to the board!
An open source publishing platform for academic journals sounds very interesting. I also guess that LaTeX support is important for journals, at least for some branches of science.

Then don't be staggered by answers which sound like RTFM.faculty wrote:[…] I'm probably going to be asking a lot of very stupid questions. Apologies in advance! […]
