spell check in French (TexnicCenter)
Good day,
When I try to check the spelling in French all the words with accented characters are underlined. Anything to do to avoid that?

Hi, do you perhaps have an english os, and try to check something you write in french...
Re: spell check in French (TexnicCenter)
What version of TexnicCenter do you use? Did you try the alpha version (which already works pretty well)?
Re: spell check in French (TexnicCenter)
I use version 1Beta 7.50 of TexnicCenter (English) with Windows XP (French).
I work in a "French environment": my documents begin with
\documentclass[10pt]{article}
\usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}
\usepackage[frenchb]{babel}
\selectlanguage{frenchb}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{lmodern}
\usepackage{graphicx}
\begin{document}
......
In the spelling options: Laguage -> fr Dialect -> FR-lassique and Locale -> french

Are we only two people who have this problem with spell checking in French?
Do other people use the French dictionary without problems?

I encountered the same problem, but found a way to make it work. It seems that it depends on the encoding of the dictionnary files you are using. I used the Classique & Réforme 1990 v. 1.3.2 from http://www.dicollecte.org/download.php?prj=fr, and it worked correctly. After placing the two files in the \TexnicCenter\Language directory, I had to rename them before they would appear in TexnicCenter (fr-2_FR worked fine). Words containing apostrophes («l'» for example) are still marked as errors. I hope this solves your problem.
