I searched the source files for the memoir class, yet did not
find any nocite command. Also I switched the class / document type
yet still all references appeared in the compiled document disregarding
their actual usage.
Is there any other place where the command might be hiding?

Finding Unused Citations - How?
Dear Friends,
could you help me with the following?
I need to eliminate unused citations from my references.
But how do I identify those that are indeed unused over those
that are not?
Is there any facile way to do this?

Hi Stefan,
thanks for your help.
I tried different programs with all permutations of respective settings
to convert the svg into pdf as you suggested.
No result was satisfying.
It was a rough day.
Finally I decided to take snapshots from the svg files edit them with GIMP and
include them as jpg ...

thanks for your reply.
I tried to do it but the quality result of converting
svg. directly into pdf is not good. E.g. all blur effects get lost.
I cleaned up the .svg files achieving a significant reduction in file size.
Most are now ~500 kb and the two biggest files are < 2Mb, instead ...
