Hi,

I'm trying to download TeXworks editor on my windows pc, and although the .tex file and pdf open fine, when I try to compile i get a message that the file "pdflatex" was not found (or something like this)..

Do I need to first download the Enumitem package? (sorry for my ignorance..)

I would like to create an Enumerated environment (list), but instead of having numbers followed by a period, I want to have them inside brackets: "(1)" in place of "1.". How do I custom set the Enumerate environment?..

In LyX - Is there a way to start a new line when writing an equation, w/o leaving the equation (Ctrl+m) mode? (I want it as one equation, which spreads over two consecutive lines).

Do I need a MikTex installation when I install LyX? I simply want to be able to write documents and convert them to PDF..
What's the functionality of MikTex?

I do have LyX installed.. not sure what you mean by "the right settings for lyx"..
