chapter number in citation [chapter.citation]

Post by florianw »

Hi,

I am relatively new with Latex and want to use it for writing my thesis. I am planning on writing the thesis in chapters using \include and I want the citations ins a specific style: [chapter#.citation#], e.g. citation 3 in chapter 2 as [2.3] and all the citations in a bibliography at the end of the thesis separated by chapter

References:
Chapter 1:
1.1 ...
1.2 ...
...
Chapter 2:
2.1 ...
2.2 ...
...

Is this possible? I tried using chapterbib but this is putting the bibliography at the end of each chapter and does not have the chapter number in the citation number.

Any help would be appreciated, since I could not find anything about this after quite intense search. A MWE is attached.

Thanks, FlorianW

Hi Florian,

try bibunits. I never used it but maybe it serves your needs.

bibunits allows you to have different bibliographies in different parts of your document (chapters, sections etc.) Each bibliography is printed within the corresponding part. As I understand it, Florian wants to have the bibliography at the end of the thesis, but split into a list of references for each chapter. multibib is probably a better starting point for this.
