Numbering of bibtex references

Post by robatron »

Hi,
Am writing a report at the moment and I have multiple references at one point.

e.g the references are [12,13,14,15,16,17,18].

Does anyone know how to change it to display:

the references are [12-18].

Small point but it looks a bit clumsy at the moment.
I am using MikTeX 2.8 and am writing out my references manually in a .bib file.

Many thanks

Using the cite package is the easiest way.
