Hello.
I'm trying to use DragonPad for mac in order to dictate into LYX since I sustained a serious arm injury and cannot type too well.
Unfortunately, LYX crashes immediately when Dragon pad is on.
Has anyone successfully been able to dictate into a LYX?
I'm using: LyX Version 2.2.3 (May 17, 2017)
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks!

Dictation in LYX with DragonPad
Welcome, sorry to hear about your injury.
I am not a LyX expert, but LyX uses regular text files. Maybe try to dictate what you have to say into your favourite (or working) text editor (notepad, vim, emacs, atom, etc.) and import that into LyX.

The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Dictation in LYX with DragonPad
short story: I don't know of a way to fix it. I agree with Johannes that you might want to dictate into a different application and then copy over.
long story: unfortunately it seems this incompatibility has been around for a long time. Most LyX developers use Linux and there is no Dragon software available for Linux, so it is difficult for us to figure out what's going on. It's not clear whether the root problem comes from Dragon or Qt or LyX. If you could submit a bug report to Dragon, that would be great. You can offer to put them in touch with LyX developers (email address is lyx-devel@lists.lyx.org).
