Document Classes ⇒ Problem with listofsymbols and two columns layout

Hi all,

I am using the listofsymbols package to get a nomenclature at the end of my article and an easy way to type in recurrent equation terms.
However, when I use the 2 columns layout provided by the publisher (elsart5p), the list of symbols does not fit the column width (no wraping of the lines)

Any ideas on how to get the \listofsymbols command to make a nice nomenclature list intergrated in the 2 cols layout?
