Uninstalling texlive, Windows XP
I have installed TexLive 2009 on a Windows XP machine, but it did not worl. I want to return to Miktex. How do I uninstall TexLive? It does not appear in the installed programs.

Uninstalling texlive, Windows XP
Run tlmgr with the uninstall option. Details here.
In what way didn’t it work, however?
I got excited about this thread when I read the title. I thought you were uninstalling Windows XP, and switching to a better operating system. Too bad.

Re: Uninstalling texlive, Windows XP
It did not work at all-- I tried some tex files that used to work just fine, but TexLive could not compile them (various error messages).
I am using Ubuntu most of the time (10.04), but for various reasons I simply have to have one Windows machine, and I need to have Latex running on it.
Miktex had some issues with some files that worked fine under Ubuntu, and I was trying to see if TL will do better.
BTW-- after I re-installed TL2009 I did find it in the Remove Programs dialog of Windows, and was able to remove it.

Re: Uninstalling texlive, Windows XP
If these files work with TeXlive under Ubuntu, but not under Windows, it’s probably a matter of a bad configuration, not that there’s something wrong with texlive globally. But it’s impossible to diagnose without further information.
Nothing wrong with using MikTeX, however. If you continue to have problems compiling certain documents with it, why not ask here?
