certain eps files in pdflatex, LyX 1.5.3

Post by cholewa »

hello there,

i found out that certain eps files give me problems when i create a pdf file with LYX 1.5.3.

here's the problem:

i included the attached eps picture in an empty LyX file and exported using pdflatex.

in the resulting pdf file the whole page with the picture isn't displayed in Acrobat Reader 8 and 9, neither on my Ubuntu, nor on Windows 7.

I have no problems when viewing the exported pdf in Ubuntu's (or Gnome's) Evince Document Viewer, but since a lot of people (me included) prefer Acrobat, i'd really like to fix this problem (or at least know it's origin).

it would be nice if somebody could verify this problem or even tell me what the problem is with this eps file (it is only one out of many).

thanks in advance,
Axel.

Convert the file to PDF. Solutions regarding EPS-to-PDF-conversion can be found via Forum Search.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Honestly, that wasn't my favorite options. LyX uses the epstopdf package, so i thought that shouldn't couldn't wouldn't be the problem (and as i said, it's only acroread that gives problems).

Now i'm using the epstopdf Perl script to convert all the i-don't-know-how-many files. Works.

Cheers,
Axel.
