Hi
I got some trouble to change the font size of
the chapters and the sections in my thesis. I am using this scrbook document class. Any help would be apericated.

I haven't used them, but the titlesec and titletoc packages are discussed a lot on the forum when people want to do the same as you.

scrbook has its own macros for doing this, and you don't need titlesec or similar. See section 3.2.1 (page 59ff) of the KOMA Script documentation.
