[beamer] Add additional information to title page

Post by deus »

Is there a way to add additional fields to the title page in a latex beamer presentation? By default, you have title/author/etc, but I would like to add a field 'supervisors' where I can specify the names of my supervisors.

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

The way I do this is to add them into one of the existing fields, e.g.
\author{M.Y. Self\\[2\baselineskip]
Supervisors: So and So}

You'll have to fiddle with spacing to get what you want.

As for positioning, you could specify the layout of the titlepage by hand, adjusting spacing as you see fit with \inserttitle, \insertauthor, ..., \vspace, \vfill..., or completely redefine \titlepage yourself.
