Generalizing BibTeX, some database back-end? (Let's discuss)

Post by jocom »

Hi,

I wondered if any of you knows about a database system that provides a front-end for TeX.
Of course we have got BibTeX and biblatex, for bibliography databases.

But now I got an addressbook and I'd like to work with it in a kind-of BibTeX way. But BibTeX does not provide the right entry types etc...

Do you think such a thing might be easier using luaTeX?
Let's discuss some options here. What might be a nice approach in general.

Greetings,
jocom
