TeX Live and MacTeX ⇒ Installing OpenType fonts in TeXLive

Hello,

I hope this is the right place for this. I run TeXLive on Linux (namely Ubuntu 10.4), and I would like to use some of Adobe's OpenType fonts in my LaTeX documents. I've looked around online but all the guides are very complicated, and I know little about fonts. Could someone please help me install these fonts into TeXLive?

I think XeLaTeX is the better way to go. It uses fonts of the operating system. So install the desired fonts on your system and take a look at the manuals of XeLaTeX related packages like xltxtra, xunicode, fontspec and mathspec.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and for recommending XeLaTeX. I installed XeTeX for TeXLive, my life is a little better now but I still have some problems which I posted here.
