Saving equation as image

How do you save a LaTeX equation as an image ?

Don't know if there is a 'proper' way, but I open the pdf in acrobat reader and use the picture function to save a part of the document.

As long as you zoom in so the equation is large on the screen, you keep the quality. Using that method I made the picture I used in this thread

Thanks ! I didn't know you could do that in a pdf, but just tested it and it worked out fine !
