Is there a way I get more than one reference grouped into the same enumeration in the bibliography ?
For example:
[1] article 1,
article 2.
[2] article 3,
[3] article 4,
article 5, and
article 6.
[4] article 7
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Re: grouping citations in bibliography
Take a look at the micteplus package: this needs a suitably-designed .bst file but does the job very well. Or look at biblatex and the "reference sets" idea.
