Page Layout ⇒ page numbers override figure caption

Hello all.

I have a big figure that takes a whole page (actually it is 2 figures using subfigure).

annoyingly, the page number is printed on the caption. trying

\thispagestyle{empty}

only affects the page before or the page after the figures.
suggestions?

Hi,

some time ago I proposed a solution for this very same issue. Use the "search" functionality of the board.
