Tikz Opacity Problem

Post by ojones »

I'm trying to view some figures containing transparency features but I see that the opacity commands are being ignored. I read that opacity only works with newer versions of Ghostscript. Anyone know how new the version should be? I'm using Ghostscript 8.64.

I've never seen opacity in TikZ work completely with any version of ghostscript, even the most recent ones, using PostScript viewers like gv or evince in Linux. The opacity is there, you just need to convert the PostScript file to PDF (using ghostscript's ps2pdf) for it to show up.

You're right, it is there! Although the transparency is missing from the dvi file, it comes up in the PDF file after conversion. Thanks.
