I am at the very very beginning level in learning plain tex.
I am confused with the decision whether to use \vglue or \vskip.
Can anybody here explain their differences?
Thank you in advance.
Yuko.

I wonder where this sudden obsession for plain TeX comes from. Perhaps some reading in form of »TeX by Topic« and »TeX for the Impatient« will do. The latter one may be more interesting for you.

I noticed from this forum that people having a strong knowledge of tex can read and modify the latex package to suit their need.localghost wrote:I wonder where this sudden obsession for plain TeX comes from.
And the people without this knowledge can only be users with a limited access to implement their creativities.
Thank you for the links.
The latter book often asks the reader to read Knuth's texbook for more details, so I decide to read the Knuth's texbook instead.
The former is good for a quick reference.
