LyX ⇒ saving figure files in the lyx file

hello !
I wrote a small python script which add my figure files (usually eps files)
at the end of lyx file.
But, when I save, everything after the \end_document or \the_end is suppressed.
Is there a way to execute my script from lyx automatically at the beginning or the end of the session: something like a .login and .logout ?
Is there a way to add a button to execute this script when I want ?
I think it would be a good idea to include this functionality into lyx in a
more serious way that my little script.
