Hi everybody, I am a newcomer of the latex community, struggling with the programme, but happy to learn.
Best regards,

Hello and welcome :) I hope you'll enjoy your stay here. Since you're making your first steps in the beautiful world of LaTeX, you may find "Resources for beginners" section useful. Best wishes and happy LaTeXing :)

Dear All,

Thanks for your warm welcome! I am trying to acces the info you suggested, but some of the links are no longer available.

Could you give indicate me where can I read to solve the following two issues I got:

1. The connection between the pdf and the program disappeared. I used to make corrections just by clicking on the pdf and it was immediately linked to the latex source but it does not happen anymore. How do you call that option?

2. The second issue seems to be worse, because the version I use (2.10beta8 (210)) does not let me run the program anymore. I get a message telling me the following:

This is XeTeX, Version 3.141592-2.2-0.995 (Web2C 7.5.5)
kpathsea: Running mktexfmt xelatex.fmt
fmtutil: format directory `/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/web2c' is not writable.
I can't find the format file `xelatex.fmt'!

Where can I read on how to solve the two issues above mentioned?

Does any latex user live in kraków?

Looking forward to hearing from you...

This is not the right place for question about specific LaTeX issues. Please choose an appropriate forum.
