Alphabetically listing acronyms

Post by pikachu »

I am using the acronym package, and I'm quite happy since it is small and easy to work with. But is there any way to list the acronyms alphabetically?

Alphabetically listing acronyms

As far as I know, there isn't a way of automatically sorting the list of acronyms when you use the acronym package. I think you're supposed to define them in the order you want them to appear. Other packages such as glossaries and nomencl rely on an external application such as makeindex to sort the information. You've got the choice of either using a small simple package that doesn't have much flexibility or a larger package that has more functionality.
