How to avoid editing at the bottom of the screen?

Post by tsynfeng »

When I write docs in lyx, I have to be writing at the bottom of the screen if the doc is more than one page long; this strains my neck.

Anyone knows a way to place the text at the center or top of the screen when writing in lyx?

Cheers

Hi there,

We all know what it is to have a stiff neck at the end of the day. To avoid that burden, you can always reduce the size of your editing window (to 1/3 of the screen height) and place it at the top of the display. That way, you will always be looking at the top of the screen.

Another very good way to do so, which is actually my favorite. If you are religious, it is even better. Otherwise, you will have to improvise with something else.
1. lift, and move the display somewhere else
2. put the very big, thick bible at the original screen position
3. put the display on top of the bible
4. sit down and look a your screen

These steps should make you look upward instead of downward. Like I said before, if you don't have a bible on hand, you can take something like a big dictionary, but then again, you need to be perfect in this language, otherwise you might this dictionary sooner or later.

Cheers
