General ⇒ PDFLaTeX does not generate .aux file

I'm using 'lastpage' package to write page number against total number of pages in my CV.
However pdflatex does not seem to generate any .aux output, the .log is created normally and says an "No auxiliary output files."

Since it is a CV, it does not have much other content for the .aux, so I tried to add some random \ref \section \label and even \tableofcontents, to no avail.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I could not have an answer from searching or from #latex, and I'm quite desperate.
The tex source and the log file are attached.
