General ⇒ Very very slow compilation

Hi there,

Just installed the latest stable TexnicCenter available online (1.0) and tried to compile a 2 page document. Whether I go for pdf, ps of dvi, it takes around 4 minutes, which is totally unacceptable. The MikTex here is available cross-network and is not installed on my own machine. Is there anything I can do to minimize the compilation time?

I think it's not an issue of TeXnicCenter (TXC). Compile the same document on the command prompt and compare. Finally TXC doesn't anything else than calling the compiler engine externally.
