Graphics, Figures & Tables ⇒ missing text/graphics in pdf

Hello,

I have a question about importing images. When I import a pdf image of 4 graphs, the text labeling different things in the graphs does not show up in the document, nor do some other graphical features of the graph. Other aspects of the graphs (i.e. some axes, lines etc.) do appear in the document. I created the pdf file from R and use the amsmath and graphicx packages in latex. The pdf file itself is fine, but not everything from that file appears in the latex pdf document.
