New LyX user, working on my thesis...

Post by cat »

I Used to work in LaTex, well, sort of. And now I'm working on my thesis, and decided to do it in/with LyX instead. I'm a total novise! So I'll hang here for a couple of months, and then, hopefully, I will have completed the thesis and by then probably now everything about LyX ;)

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

Good luck with LyX. I discarded it very quickly because it turned out to be too inconvenient for me. Nevertheless there are some users who may be able to provide advice.

Best regards and welcome to the board

I will give an advice straight away: make sure you regularly make backup copies of your document since it happens from time to time that .lyx files become unreadable. You may consider exporting plain .tex file every time you finish a session working on your thesis.

Welcome to the board, I wish you luck with LyX too, though I'm preferring LaTeX.
