Hi,
I have used MikTeX and TeXniC-Center before during my education but after installing the newest version of MikTeX (2.8) and TeXniC-Center (1,0 Stable RC) I suddenly can't build my project. I get the following message but no errors after building one second:
("C:\...\preamble.tex":pdflatex.exe: GUI framework cannot be initialized.
I couldn't open file name: "C:\...\master.aux"
Does anyone know what seems to be the problem? I might add that it works on another 64 bit laptop exactly like mine.
General ⇒ master.aux error during building

Hi,
I've set the install on the fly to Yes, but still the error persists. I am using Win7, Texnic CEnter 1, and Miktex 2.8 It works fine for article documents, but it is having that error for the document class beamer, for slides.
Thanks for any help.

I had the same "GUI framework cannot be initialized" problem with TexcnicCenter 1.0 and MikTex 2.8.
Setting simply to Yes the option "Install missing packages on-the-fly" in miktex 2.8 did not work.
It worked by setting firstly the setting to "No", then compiling 2 times, then resetting to "Yes" and then recompiling.. Now it works
. very strange!
