Problems with Japanese otf and ttf

Post by clemens »

Hello,

I have been trying for a while to use Lyx and Latex in general for an article with a lot of diacritics and Japanese characters. I need to use two specific fonts, one is Times Extended ttf and the other is the Japanese Morisawa Hiragino Mincho otf. Unfortunately I haven't been able to do it. I tried both using Miktex and Xetex but to no avail. Can anyone help?
I was wondering how I can convert these two fonts so that they can be used in latex (fontmapping etc).
All the best
