Bypass default settings for frontmatter

Post by bindigit1 »

I am trying to create the title page of my dissertation in Lyx and the problem is that I need something like this for the title page:

<Title>

<Name>

A dissertation presented in part fulfillment of the requirements blah blah blah...

<Date>

(I am currently using the book document class). I cannot find an appropriate field in the layout list and if I simply add the text below the name, it goes to the next page. Do you have any ideas how this can be done?

I'm not a LyX user but there somehow should be the possibility to use the titlepage environment and setup a title page as desired.
