Using the navigator panel in TeXnicCenter

Post by iperten »

Hi!

I was writing a file with Latex center and by chance I pressed the combination ctrl+D instead of copying.

Anyway, the Navigator panel popped up but I don't know how to use it. Is it useful? What can you do with it?

thank you.

Cheers.

The navigator panel in TeXnicCenter?

It is useful if you create a project---and particularly if you have a large document (for example, a thesis with chapters selfcontained in separate tex files). Then with the navigator panel you can skip to chapters, sections, and subsections, figures, and bibliography by double-clicking the entry in the navigator panel.

You can keep it refreshed by using "save all"

Ja, that's what I thought.

So I can use it only if I have a big document made of different Tex files, isn't it?

But not for a document which is just one Tex file, even if containing chapters, sections, biblio, etc...
