Document Classes ⇒ Bug of achemso?

I am using the latex package achemso. I found a small problem.

I append \email \affiliation to the corresponding author. After I compile it, I found there is an aster after the author name, which is perfect. But in the footnote, before ``To whom correspondence should be addressed'' there is no ``*''. But if I put a \footnote{XXXX} in the title as the demo, everything works fine.
