too much space at the beginning of a chapter

Post by berendho »

I use the article documentclass and i was wondering how i could reduce the space at the start of a chapter. The title is placed at 1/3 from the top of the page and i want to save some space and reduce this.
coul someone help me. I wasn't able to find this in any of the tutorials.

thanks
Berend

The standard article class does not allow the \chapter command.

The titlesec package lets you customize the heading commands: see the \titlespacing and \titleformat commands.

Edit: spelling issues; added \titleformat command I originally forgot.
