Ghostscript vs. Acrobat Distiller

Post by M.A »

I have in my PC both Ghostscript 8.64 and Adobe Acrobat 8.1.

My question is: which one of them is better for converting ps to pdf ?

I noticed that pdf file size for ghostscript is smaller than the acrobat and I didn't notice any differences in the font embedding list.
I read somewhere that acrobat has better quality, but I didn't notice that,
Any other comparisons ?

I think the answer lies in your descriptions. And it is the most uncomplicated method to get a PDF from a PS file. Most LaTeX IDEs support this conversion. It is astonishing that the Adobe products don't yield the best results regarding their own format.
