PDF properties

Post by jonathan webley »

PDF files have properties such as author and title. Is there any way of setting these via LaTeX?

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

hyperref does this nicely, or you can of course do things directly with the primitives.

Code: Select all

\usepackage[
  pdfauthor = {Some Person},
  pdftitle = {A long title, perhaps}
  pdfsubject =  {Some rubbish I've made up}
]{hyperref}
This can also be set using \hypersetup after loading the package.

Thanks, Joseph!

pdfsubject isn't recognised, but using hypersetup works great.

I forget the exact option names. You can set various things, which are all listed in the hyperref notes somewhere.

pdfsubject is correct, but you've forgotten a comma.
