WinEdt ⇒ installing winedit and make it work

hi, I've the following problem:
I install MikteX and then winedit. at the end of the installation winedit is automatically opened and everything works properly. if I close it and then I open it again it doesn't work anymore. it tells me: BibTeX faild to create a bbl file.

I noticed the first time I install winedit the setup windows keep being open: I can'e actually open it but there is a link on the toolbar. finally, when I open winedit andtry to open a document already compiled, I don't know why but it opens me the folder system32 instead of winshell(c:Program Files\Winedit Team....\Winshell) and when I go to the winshell folder I've documents that shouldn't be there anymore, because I've overwritten them after reinstalling winedit: as I said the first time it always works but if I save a new document with the same name as an old one, overwrite it and then compile it, when I close winedit is like if I never overwritten that file but it gives me the old version.

I tried to install winedit as administrator, but it didn't work: the setup window is still open after I launch winedit for the first time.

this is the first time something like this happens. I've been using latex for 5 years now. last thing: I just had my computer back with the hard drive substituted.
