Hi, my name is Danny and im a fairly new user of Latex.

I study Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Aalborg in Denmark. My studygroup and I started using Latex last year to write our reports.
At first we used word to compile our documents and reports, but relative quickly we realised that word and other WYSIWYG programs are not nearly as complex and ideal to write large and long reports.

We use Latex along with SVN Tortoise SubVersion control software, and that combination tributes a great help for me and my studygroup.

I think you will not regret the step away from a word processor to a typesetting system. Obviously it worked during the last year and hopefully will work in the future.
