I'm using LyX-version 2.4.1 under Windows 11
I try to make my first presentation with LyX using the beamer-presentation-class.
I'm trying to use overlays within a line, but the method shown in the LyX-Beamer-manual is not working, because there is no "Overlay Specifications" or "Action Specifications" in the "Insert" menu. Also the Shortcut Alt + A 1 does not work, it says "Command disabled". The Overlays in the menu on the top left side affect always the complete line, but thats not what i want.
While playing around a bit with LyX, i found three workarounds, but non of them is satisfying:
1. Copy the commands from the manual. (bothering)
2. Use Columns and an overlay-option from the menu on the top left side. (doesn't look good)
3. Insert -> custom inset -> Presentation Mode with ERT (It's ERT)
I found the last one via trial and error, and i even don't know, if i use it the right way.
I hope that there is a possibility like shown in the manual, somewhere i didn't found yet. Or maybe there is another way to insert an action-like command.
I would be very thankful for help
PS: I hope it's understandable, what i want. I'm not a native speaker and didn't write an english text for years... *feeling insecure*

Beamer-Presentations - Inserting Overlays within a line
Hi Torael,
welcome to the forum!
The question is clearly understandable, no worries. There are just not many LyX users these days visiting the forum. I'm not a LyX user myself, just LaTeX, but I use the occasion to say Welcome.
And it's good to see that you found a usable workaround.

Thanks for the Welcome
Just in case someone else struggles with the same problem.
It was just a case of rtfm:
You have to go on edit -> custom text styles -> choose the thing you need
After this you can use the insert-menu...
