Embedding movie. need high resolution. movie15 distort.

Post by Successful »

So i am trying to embed a movie into my pdf. The problem is that I need a relatively high resolution to get everything (text) to be clear (legible). I view the .avi in an external player and it looks good (everything is clear), but when I use movie15 to embed it into the pdf the text becomes a little blurry when looking at the pdf file. I have to zoom in quite a bit to read the text. My guess to what's happening is that movie15 is resizing the avi to fit and in doing so some of the info is lost and the resolution goes down.

Is this an inherent problem for movie15?
Is there an alternative method to embedding a movie?

Also, is there a way to get it to show the "poster" image after it's finished playing? i.e. display the first frame after it's done playing?
