Graphic design/typesetting tips for technical users of LaTeX?

Post by ironmathyu5 »

This may be largely irrelevant for us technical users, as most of our formats are preordained based on use case (journal, thesis formatting standards etc.)

Let's say, though, that I want to write a book in LaTeX, or make my homework or lab report look extra spiffy. Are there any resources on graphic design or typesetting specifically for LaTeX users, or failing this, particularly good introductions in general?

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

Here are the LaTeX resources you can use:

1. TeX FAQ https://texfaq.org/FAQ-limits: It addresses most of the frequently asked questions!

2. A comprehensive LaTeX Guide https://typeset.io/resources/learn-late ... t-is-latex: More or less, it covers every aspect of LaTeX software right from installation to document download! Worth bookmarking it!

All the best!
