Theses, Books, Title pages ⇒ kaobook also not building

Long-time LaTeX user, but not a systems expert. I want to use kaobook, and I've carefully downloaded the template and run compileall.sh in the terminal window.

On l.123, after loading a bunch of files, it gets an Undefined Control Sequence error on \extrafloats{100}.

Continuing from there gives me a variety of further errors, starting with
LaTeX error: "xparse/command-not-yet-defined"
on l.184, and several following.

More files loading, until a final error after a .sty file not found, then
\setlength{\headheight}{115pt}
gives a fatal error.

Can you help me sort this out?

Hi Ben,

I just downloaded the current version of the template from the site and ran ./compileall.sh in Terminal and it compiled just fine. I'm using TeX Live 2020 on a Mac. Is your LaTeX distribution up to date? Often problems like what you pasted are solved by updating.
