TexLive font that is the most similar to Georgia

Post by Aleks »

I am writing a thesis, however, they told me that the font I should use is Georgia. OK, I thought, easy to change that. Well, when I change the font using

Code: Select all

\usepackage {fontspec}
\setmainfont {Georgia}

I have problems with the Cyrillic letters ѐ and ѝ. They simply don't appear in the pdf output (lualatex, I am using TexStudio). Also, when I am using the Georgia font in LibreOffice or OnlyOffice, those letters appear wrong, i.e the software is using some other font, because in Georgia they are obviously missing. When I try typing those in MS Word however, everything is correct. But, I would hate ending up copying/pasting everything with all those footnotes in MS Word! Is there some font being natively used by Tex, that won't give me headaches, but close enough to Georgia so the folks from my university don't notice? OS is Ubuntu.

How about copying the files from Windows to your linux box?
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
