Latex migration, no output

Post by Marco110981 »

Hello out there.

I formerly laptop broke down, I got a new one on which I installed TexnicCenter and MIkTex to compile my latex stuff. Fortunately I could save all the Latex OUTPUT directory on my memory stick before my old laptop died out. I have been running my 1.st laptop latex files on my new computer.

I tried to modify the file, compile it but....THE SOFTWARE DOES NOT OUTPUT ANYTHING. :o
"Pdflatex invalid argument" and It complaints about the lack of the .aux file while the aux file is actually present in the folder where the .tex file is located.

Should I re-install the whole software or can I adjust it and fix this problem?
Thanks
regards
Marco

Before reinstalling, why not create a minimal tex file and test the compilation with that? I am not sure, but since the aux file is not being overwritten, there might be some permission problems associated with that. As I do not use Windows, you have to check that.
